THE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S SHOW.
The preparations for the Waikato Horticultural Society's show at To Awanmtu, on tho 17th inst. (St. Patrick's D.iv), are being pushed forward. The Hall will lima the ne'v ceiling completed by that dute. A large marquee has been secured in which to place such pott'oti of the exhibits as cannot be contained in the hall. The amount-of aoooial prizes already totals upwards of £00, nnd consequently the uumuer of exhibits should gre.itly oxceed that at any of theSnei■ ty's previous shows. Entries of exhibits ure coining in vapidly. To pre\ent disappointment w« would call soecia! attention to fie date after which, under rule l(i, entries wiil not he accented, viz, n"xt Thursday, the. Uth March iu-t. Tli,s dale lias been nntifuid in thrse columns as the closing day for cutties as lons ago as the 25th January last. A further addition has lienn mule to the special prize list, Messrs R ami W. Hellaby offering lGs as a first luizn for the hest collection of vegetables, and Messrs Yates and Co., a second piiza of 10s.
