A prisoner named Thomas Johnson, awaitiug his trial for forgery at Marton, escaped from the gaol this morning at 9'20 a.m. He had been working in the carpenters' shop with a fellow prisoner, but was left by himself a few minntes, locked in by the gaoler. Other prisoners working in the gaol saw Johnson making his escape, and after some delay gave the word to the gaoler, who at oucc rushed out, but Johnsou had a good start and was soon lost sight of.
