The Government intend sending the mineral exhibits in the New South Wales Coart at the Dtinedin Exhibition to the Mining Exhibition at the Crystal Palace. Adelaide, February 20. The missing steamer Bucephalus, which ran short of coal and provisions, has been picked up. Melbourne, February 26. An outbreak of typhoid fever has occurred amongst the domestics at Government House. The Earl of Hopecoun and family will remain at the Government summer residence, Mount Macedon. Lord Hopetoun has received a cablegram from the Queen, congratulating Australia on the success of the Federation Conference. February 28. At the enquiry with regard to the wreck of the ship Holyhead, at Point Lonsdale, the Court found Captain Williams guilty of gross misconduct, and suspended h'3 certificate for two years. Roberts, the chief officer, was suspended for 18 months. The officers mentioned was also ordered to pay the coat of enquiry. Brisbane, February 28. Mrs Elizabeth Hyde has been convicted on the charge of murdering her husband, by poisoning his food with strychnine, and has been sentenced to death. A man named Birry beat his wife to death with an axehandle, at Rockhampton, yesterday. The assault was committed intermittently for some hours.
