AN IMPORTANT DECISION.

[by telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Last Night, Some time ago the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, who hold the Mount Patriarch Run, in tho ISelson district, got into a dispute with the Government as to their liability to clear a wider portion of the run of scrub. They also wished to be released from the terms applying to a portion of the estate, and a case was brought in the Supreme Court to settle the matter. Judgment was given to-day against the Company, upon whom the onus of the eradication of scab, if it still exists, will be thrown. The decision is of considerable importance to run-holders.
