Mr John Dillon arrived in town from rlnkianga this morning. He considers the Hokianga district one of the finest he has visited in the colony. Mr Dillon is being entertained at a farewell conversazione tonight.
The annual meeting of the Taupiri Extended Coal Company was held to-day. The report shows a net profit of £1084, and a dividend of Is pet share was declared. Tho report stated that the new working was now well opened, and the quality of coal is more uniform and superior to that of the old mine.
