THE FOREST ON FIRE. [by telegraph—own correspondent.] Auckland, Last Night. It is stated by a gentleman who arrived from Whangarei last night that when he left thas place last evening Inspector Gordon had just bsen informed that the Puhipuhi Fore-it was on fire in the centre, aud was about to leave for the scene of the outbreak. The news has not, however, been confirmed to-day from Whangarei.
