TE AWAMUTU CAVALARY.
Proficiency Certificates fob Non-com-missioned Officers.—During the recent camp of instruction held at Raglan, in addition to the practice examination then held by Col. Shepherd and Capt. Coleman of the commissioned officers, namely Captain Bruce, Lieutenant Gresham and Lieutenant Somerset; all the non-commissioned officers, above the rank of corporal, were also examined in practical details of cavalry drill. Certificates of proficiency for the following non-commissioned officers have just keen received at Head Quarters, Te Awamutu, viz., Sergeant-Major Bond, Sergeants Rigg, Hugh Graham, Carley, Campbell Johnstone, and Weathenll. A troop drill will be held in the Volunteer Hal', on Saturday, 4th January 1890, at 8 p.m., not in uniform.
