HAMILTON SWIMMING ASSOCIATION.
At the mooting of the Hamilton Swimming A-sociation held in THB Waik.VTO TIMES Buildings on Saturday night, there were present: Messrs W. A.Graham (in thechair), J. Coates, .T. U. Panned, 1\ (>. Sandos, J. D. MeUille, C. J. W. Barton, G. Edgecumbe, C. Knox, and the acting secretary, Mr W. M. Kay. Tile minutes of tho last meeting were read and continued. CoiuiKSi'oxuUN'cu. — The reply of the Hon. secretary to Mr R. St Clair, secretary to Auckland Swimming Club, re forming of a New Zealand Swimming Association and Mr St. Clair's reply thereto, were read and approved. Mlillistilis. — The names of over fifty gentleman were then placed upon the list of membership. Dbujuatks.—ln the matter of appointing delegates it was arranged that Messrs Hay, Panned and T. G. Sandes, be appointed delegates to attend the meeting of the. Now Zealand Amateur Swimming Association to he held in Auckland during the month of January. It was also decided to change the name of this Association to that of the Hamilton Amateur Swimming Club. The following ruio was then considered and passed as the basis upon which the Club should be continued :—"That the officers of this Club consist of a President, vicePresident, Treasurer and Secretary, and a committee of nine members to bo elected at the first general meeting of the season, three to form a quorum, and that the Treasurer or Secretary have power to summon a meeting at any time when necessary in the interests of the. Club. That two auditors be appointed to examine tho accounts and read a statement ot tho same at the general meeting, also that the officer* be elected from members paying tho full subscription and entraucj fee. Junior members having attained the age of IS years •diall on payment of the extra subscription and entrance money become senior members, and shall be entitled to vote." — Carried unanimously Tho other rules were referred to a committee to prepare and submit to a general meeting to be held this (Tuesday) evening. The following appointments were, then made: —W. A. Graham, I'j-iq., to lie the President ; His Worship the Mayor. Isaac Coates, Esq., Vice-President; Mr G. Edgeeuinbe, Treasurer ; and Mr W. M. Ilay, Secretary pro tem. A committee ot nine, namely, Messrs 0. G lvu"X, K. J. Gwvnne, C. J. W. Barton, \V. F. Bell, W. Taylor, John Parr, C. Le fhiesne. T. G. Sarnies and R. F. Sandes. Swimming Cakxival. -He usual swimming g da hold on tlie 2!) th January, it was decided to postpone it on account of the Jubilee celebration in Auckland. Saturday, February loth, was lixsd upon in lieu thereof for holding tho swimming sports. The meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
