TE AROHA.

Meeting he Annual School Fete.—On Tuesday evening the special meeting arranged to consider ways and means and other arrangements was held in the schoolroom. The whole of the members of the School Committee were present, with the exception of Mr John Ilotfc. After general conversation as to the form the entertainment should take, it being suggested that an alteration in the proceedings might be made, it was resolved not to alter the order of the proceedings. The date for the fete was fixed for the Ist January, and on the motion of Mr Lavery, seconded by Mr Heatlicofca, it was resolved that young ladies be requested to act as a committee for the purpose of receiving subscriptions from the public, tho Rev. Mr Lawry and Mr Menzies to act as an enlisting committee. The following names, amongst others, were mentioned to act as a committee Misses Edwards, Pa\itt, Maingay, Johnston, Strange and Ebert. Messrs Heathcote, Lavery and Arimt were appointed a committee to select the ground. Mr Brookes, who was present, promised the scrvicos of the Te Aroha Brass Band oil the occasion, and after discussing some minor arrangements the meeting was adjourned till Monday evening.
