IMPORTANT DISCOVERY OF IRON ORE AT HUNTLY.
An important discovery of an extensive deposit of iron ore lias lately been mads at lluntly. The only particulars yot to hand, are that a settlor near that township came across a dejios.it of mineral of con-ider.ible o.xtent, and having some knowledges of the subject, he forwarded particulars to Mr Hughes, manager of tho Onohunga Iron Works, who arranged to pay the locality a visit yesterday. The result of his trip will bo looked forward to with much interest, as with iron, csal, and limestone in such cUse proximity, an important industry would appear to be upon the ove of being opened up.
