THE LATE MAJOR JACKSON.

Tuic Commissioner of Police has received a telegram stating that a boily, supposed to be that of Major J'ack<i>n, has bean found in a cava between Mokau and Kawhia. The body has not yet been identified. The Government ha\o chartered the steamer Mohaka to proceed from Xew Plymouth to a place near the White Ciiif, where the body was found. It is int;nded "to bring the body to Waitara, where a formal inquest will be hold: then, if found to be Major Jackson, it will bo sent tj Auckland.
