At Tilbury the foremen and clerks refused to join the Labourer's Union, on the ground that to do so would be contrary to their agreement with their employers, and cause forfeiture of their pensions. Many labourers were opposed to the strike, which was organised in order to coiupel the foremen and clerks to join the Union.

The Strike Committee has voted £-J3UO to the Dock Labourer's Union. The finance Committee will dissolve on Saturday.

Mr John Aircl, M.P. for Paddington South, suggested that a Royal Commission be appointed to inquire into and report on the labour question, with the view to the creation of Courts of Arbitration.

The General Steam Navigation Company have suspended the Boulogne trade owing to the action of the men. The Docker's Union is gradually gaining strength, and now numbers 30,000.

Tho 'busmen have resolved to strike on Monday unless the proprietors agree to their demand for twelve hours' day work.

The financial committee of the strikers have now closed accounts, and the credit side shows that the Australian colonies contributed i 30,800 ; the English trades union contributed £4000. Losdox, November 17. IS'early all the master bakers have now conceded the demands of the men for a reduction in the hours of labour. The Road Car Company have granted the demands of the 'busmen for a reduction of the hours of labour to twelve hours a day work, on condition that other 'bus companies make similar concessions.

The earnings of the Tilbury dock labourers have been increased by four and six shillings weekly. In some instances the wages of miur employed at other docks have also "been increased by eight and thirteen shillings weekly.
