A BANKRUPTCY CASE.

In the Court of Appeal the question was raised whether under proviso of section 137 of the Bankruptcy Act 18S3, a bankrupt must pay men their wages in full, or whether he need only pay them amounts of their preferential claims before getting his discharge, Judge Denuiston considering himself bound by the decision of the late Judge Gillies, hiid refused the bankrupt Ford, of Cliri.stchurch, this discharge, on the assignee reporting that wages men had not all been paid in full, although they bad received their preferential claims. The bankrupt has now appealed, and the appeal was allowed.
