Out of a council of nine a majority of sevou will havo the power to declare a shike. Tho formation of tho Union of unskilled labour is increasing, throughout tho United Kingdom. The train strikers at Shields and the London 'bus and tramway men are gradually securing" concessions. London 'busmen demand that a day's labour bo restricted to 12 hours, including two of relief, and the abolition of fines. The wharfingers and lightermen are disputing about the meaning of Lord Brassey's award, as the night workmen insist on a settlement at once, smd have decided that night work shall consist of one job only. The masters refuse to agree, and Lord L'rassey supports them. " Blacklegs ' are not allowed to join tho Union, ansl the latter have decided to call the men out on strike on Monday if the demands are not agreed to. The balance-sheet of the recent strikers is nearly completed. The Australian contributions amounted to £2f-,fiGo, and the balance in hand is £0,500.
