Tho Tariff Committee recommend that an endeavour be made to secure free trade between Tasmania and the other colonies, lu their report as an amendment on the tariff they suggest the following duties : sheep, three shillings aud cattle 50s per head ; bacon, 25 per cent; hams, flour, grain, pulse, bran, pollard, oatmeal, ouions, woollen piece goods, blankets, shawls, and tweeds, 20 percent,, potatoes, 25 per cent. The Chamber of Commerce approves of granting New Zealand, a share in carrying the Tasmanian mails.
