Hrbakisu and Entering. — The man Larry McDonald was again brought lip on .Friday before Messrs Kenny ;uid Ilott J.P.'s 011 tlie charge of breaking and entering tho premises of Carroll Nash. Const. Mitchell conducted the prosecution, and a large number of witnesses were examined. The accused was fully committed to take his trial at the Supreme Court. Assauit. —Walter Scott was afterwards brought up before the same magistrates on a charge of assaulting his stepdaughter, one Aunie McCloushon. He was fined on this charge £5 and costs 30s, or one month, and bound o\er for li months in two sureties of £40. On a charge of cutting and wounding his wife ho was sentenced to two months in .Mount Kden gaol with hard labour, and was further bound over as before. The two prisoners were taken to Auckland on Saturday v ia Te Aroint. 1 H'nhihn Exiiwition.—Mr Adam Porter has been here during the week making arrangements for the supply of exhibits uf Ohineinuri ores at tho forthcoming Dunediu Exhibition.
