GLADSTONE AND THE LIBERALS.
(itY ECKCTHIO TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT). London, October 6. The Marquis of Hartington, in addressing a meeting at Sterling, charged Mr Gladstone with hopelessly shattering the Liberal party, and promoting every fantastical fad in order to gain fresh political supporters. He said that at present the scheme of federation was ambiguous, and it wan ridiculous to assert that Homo Rule was a necessary condition.
