The Government has received information that at a meeting of the Colonial Agents-General in London, it was decided to ask the Imperial Government to intervene to prevent the concession to the American Company of the exclusive right to land telegraphs and cables at Hawaii.
Adelaide, September 20. Bishop Kcnniou has petitioned the Archbishop of Canterbury not to consecrate Canon Smith, Bishop of Sydney, till the question of the validity of his election has been settled.
