LEQUESNE V. A. O. KELLY.

TO THE EDITOR. Sin,—Your report of tho above, in Thursday's paper, is so incorrect and likely to lead the public to believe that my charges were reduced by £3 7s 2d on £8 19s 2d, that 1 must ask you to insert the following correct particulars :—Part of my account against tho defendant was an 1.0. U. for which I had given him an order on A. Connolly, in January, 1888, from which time the account sued for was also due, " one year and seven nnnths." I charged him a year's interest, the defendant never objected to my account until in Court, where I found that he had a lawyer there to pick my charges to pieces, and after two day's hearing, he succeed in getting an allowance of four shillings and I'ightpenen, he having to pay ten shillings cost and his lawyer, I agreed to take back my order on Connolly and return the J.0.U., £3 2s Gd. I think it is much unjust for a man to go into a store and get what he wants, well knowing what the prices and the terms are, for if he does not, it is his own fault, to be allowed to dispute terms and charges at anytime he may think fit years after. An honest man generally enquires the price of an article before purchasing, and everyone who comes in my store can see my terms painted on a board in front of them, also on my bill heads, if that does not suit them they need not deal with me, I do my best for all who comes, but I never ask anybody. —I am, yours truly, P. Le Qoesne, Kirikiriroa, September sth., 1889.
