THE LATE ACCIDENT.

Dii. McKell.ui, after visiting Mr C. Pat-on, who was injured at the hunt drag, decided that it would not bo advisable to undertake tho operation of trepanning, as it was impossible to locate the exact injury. He thought the case a hopeless one, but said if the patient survived to Monday, ha would have a chance of recovering. Dr. McKellar returned to Auckland by Saturday s tram. We are pleased to report that yesterday Dr. Cushney considered Mr Patm a shade better, although ho was still insensible. His temperature and breathing were both nearly normal, which are cheering signs We sincerely hope the favourable signs will continue, and that we may bo spared tho recoid of a second victim.
