She died in great agony. NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. Nearly sixty tons of butter were sent away from New Plymouth during July. KEEFTON, Monday. There was great excitement in the Sharemarkot on Saturday last over a spurt in the Red ward shares. A syndicate first got wind of a find in the mine, and were able to buy up twelve or fourteen thousand shares at from lOd to Is, subsequently selling up to Ih, making a big haul. Since then shares have declined ti 2s. Matters are quiet today, but a big business is st-ll doing. WESTPORT, Monday. Much public dissent is being manifested here at the action of the Railway Commissioners calling upon Mr Christopl.ees (district manager), and Mr Loveday, stationmaster, to resign their positions. Both officers have now left the service. The grounds of complaint against them here were over the collision which recently occurred on the line and sonic other alleged breaches of rules. GISRORNE, Monday. J. H. Aislabie, Robt. Wade, Winter, Hammond, and J. 0. Deune, were charged at the Police Court with instigating and taking part in n raffle for the race-horse Fit/james. Aislabie was fined £5 and the others £1 each. DUNEDIN, Monday. The takings at the Maori football match were £205.
