William Thompson, convicted of embezzling and forging to the amount of £1625 in the Colonial Bank at Yarraglen, of which he was manager, was sentenced to-day to five years' hard labour, with solitary confinement. Florida Cistelluno, an Italian, said to be a nephew of Signor Crispi, Italian Premier, has recovered £1000 damages from the Grosv.enor Hotel Company, Sydney. Tho Company sued Cistellano for £47 hotel bill. He paid £35 into Coutt, and put in a counter claim of £'2000 damages for wrongful arrest on a writ of copa. The Queensland Government intend to send an address to the Queen on the subject.
