THE WAIKATO HOSPITAL
At the meeting of tho Pinko County Council, the proposed increaso of salary to Dr. Kenny, was discussed, and, on tho motion of Or. Heaney, it was resolved that the Council's delegates to the Hospital Board bo requested to oppose any increase of salaries. Ho was glad to see that Cr. Chepmell had Rot the question of raising the doctor's salary deferred. The Chairman said the matter was sprung upon them, he had not yet made up his mind how he should vote. Cr. Brunskill said he felt veiy strongly on this matter. With one exception (Coromandel), tho Hospital was proportionately the most expensive in the colony. He was astonished to see four of the members support tho doctor's application ; if any salaries were to be raised, it should be the secretary and nurse's. There were plenty of medical men who would do the work for the present salary.
