The Postmaster-General has given notice of motion for Tuesday to the effect that the House agrees to the extension of the 'Frisco service for twelve months, the subsidy to be reduced to £33,000. with a proviso that New Zealand hereafter joins the contract or contributes in postage to tho subsidy any sum exceeding £6,000, such excess to the extent of £35,003 to go to the Union Steamship Company. New South Wales is to take two-thirds and the company one-third of any American contribution, and all postages will be returned by the colony subject to the adjustment of the share with New Zealand if the latter agrees to the extension. One of the conditions of the contract will be that only H iropeui crews shall be employed on tlie steamers.
