WAITOA ROAD BOARD

The ordinary monthly mooting of the Waitoa Road Board took place in t'io Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville, last Saturday in spite of the great downpour of rain. Present: Messrs W. I'. So consigning their horses to their informant who had very considerately to obtain them, they along with Mr Tmnbull made tracks on foot and found on arriving at the place where the culvert had been that a number ot men were employed in putting two groat beams of wood across to enable foot passengers to cross. It seems that Mr Harrison, the manager of the Lockerby estate, 011 finding the culvert gone had employed the men to fetch the beams and put them across. It was found also that the culvert next the Nottingham Castlo Hotel, Morrinsville, 011 the Hamilton road had been washed away. Mr Harrison, on seeing both culverts gone and knowing that it would take some time to replace them, very kindly came to the rescue, and not only allowed the temporary use of some bridge timber that happened to be 011 the estate at some considerable distance from Morrinsville, but employed men and waggons to fetch it and put up two temporary bridges, which they had finished before night. It is needless to say that the members of tho Board are very much obliged to Mr Harrison. Th.n'DKlls.— The following tenders were received for the work on Lovegrove's road : Jas.
