A FARMERS' CLUB.
Lv accordance with an advertisement that appeared in the Waikato Timks a meeting of farmers was held in the Oddfellows Hall Cambridge last Saturday afternoon, to consider the advisability of forming a Fanners' Club. Mr G. E. Clark was voted to thechair. It was proposed by Mr Williams that steps be taken to form a Farmers' Club. It was seconded by Mr James Anderson, and upon oeing put to the meeting, it was carried unanimously. The chairman spoke forcibly of the great disadvantage the farmers laboured under in not having an organised body to bring their wants influentially before the proper institutions, he stated that by united action the farmers eould control, whilst individually they would have little, or no weight. Mr Forrest and others spoke briefly on the impossibility of the farmers exercising that power which lies within their reach without combination. A committee was formed to draw up rules, and the next meeting will be on Saturday, June 22nd.
