Con'UKKT andTaih.haux.—Tho attendance at the concert and tableaux on Friday evening last, at the Public Hall, was a very meagre one, owing to the inclement state of tho weather. Tho Rev. Mr Boler presided, the concert being in aid of Church funds. The entertainment itself was an admirable one and gave great pleasure to those who attended. Miss Allen who had greatly interested herself ill getting up the affair, was inexcellent voice, and as usual charmed the audience. Messrs Burgess and Christie who kindly gave their services, were heard here for the first time, and their songs were much appreciated. Wo hope to hear them again. Miss Willssong "KateO'Shane" was sweetly rendered. Tho actors in the charade and tableaux' were all exceedingly good. Mrs Helps played the ace impairments in her usual accomplished manner. The following was thu programme :—Piano solo, Mrs Helps ; song, " Oueen of the Earth," Mr Christie; tableau, ''The Bailiff's' Daughter of Islington." Song by Miss Steele (encored), song, "The Fog Bell," Mr Burgess, encored, and "The Silver Cup" in response; song, " Kate O'Shane," MUs Wills ; The Turkish Romance; a series of tableaux'. Poe.ni read by Mr Christie. Interval. Part Tf—Piano solo, Mrs Helps; tableau, "Tapping at tho Carden < late " ; song, Miss Wills; song, "Tho Old Brigade," Mr Burgess, encored anil repeated last verse; song, "Waiting," Miss Allen, encored; song (comic), "An Awful Little Scrub," Mr Christie, encored ; Charade, Ist. scene, Fancy Pair; 2nd. scene, Cipsy Will; .'ird. scene, Soldier and Peasant. This concluded the evening's amusement; an enjoyable dance following.
