[by electric telegraph.—copyright.] New York, June 10. Tun latest returns of the loss of life by the Johnstown catastrophe is 37,000. This is based on the fact that 13,000 survivors only have registered their names, while the estimated population of the district affocted (the Covenmaugh A r alley) is 50,000. It is feared all the rest have lost their lives. Juno 11. Tho inquiry into the bursting of the resorvoir at Johnstown concluded to-day, when tho verdict was returned that the accident was caused by tho criminal negligence of tho owners. Tho lives of the latter were seriously menaced by the mob. All danger of a postilence breaking out is now averted. The amount subscribed in aid of the sufferers is found to be adequate for
