ACME SKATING RINK FANCY CARNIVAL.

Thf, first of a series of Fancy Carnivals in connection with the Acme Skating Rink, was held in the Public Hall, Hamilton, last night, and was an unqualified success. There were about twenty skaters in fancy costume, and about the same number in plain dress. All the sitting room available was crowded to excess, and the onlookers seemed to enjoy the antics cut by some of tha skaters as well as the latter did themselves. Skating commenced at 7.30 o'clock, and was continued until 10 o'clock. During the latter part of the ovening the floor was occupied by the male sex, as the pace got a little too warm for the gentler sex. The following is a list of the characters : — Miss Newell—Portia.
