FARMERS AND COMMISSION AGENTS.
An Important Case. (by telegraph.—press association.) Ti.uaku, Friday. A cask arising out of the rapid rise in tho price of wheat at the close of last year, occupied the Supreme Court all yesterday. An Ashburton farmer placed 12,000 sacks in the hands of a commission agent to sell, and he sold it at 4s. A few day's later wheat rose to 4s (id. The farmer declared that ho had revoked the authority and sold again, and brought an action for wrongful conversion with damages for the difference in price, interost and £28 paid in compensation to the direct buyer for loss of his bargain. The jury found that the plaintiff did not revoke the authority, and a verdict was given for the defendant,
