COLONIAL INSURANCE COMPANY.
(by telegraph.—press association.) WEllington, Friday. The report of the Colonial Insurance Company to be presented at the eleventh annual meeting shows the receipts were £(>0,445 and the expenditure £62,052, balance £4,393. The directors say the profit of last year has enabled them to clear off a heavy debit balance which has for some time been a serious drag on the Company, and also to write off n loss caused by the death of tho Calcutta manager. The debit balance and all outstanding claims and losses having been provided for the Company commences its present financial period with better prospects than has been its fortune for some time.
