(DY TELEGKAI'tI. —OWN CORRESPONDENT). Auckland, Y\ ednesday. Taking evidence in the case Edcrecumbe v. Liquidator of the Farmers' On-operative Company has been adjourned to Monday ncNt. Mr Fallon, contractor for the last two and a-half miles of the Opunake of the Ivaihti Valley railway has been notified by tho Company to cease operations for the present, thus throwing nearly one hundred picked men out of employment. This is said to bo one result from the action taken by the Kauri TiitiKsr Company against the property of the Railway company. 11. J. Roth was committed tor trial on a charge of making a false declaration on his insurance policy. At the sale ot properties to-day in the estate of .lolin Buchanan, the prices ruled low, No. 20. Tepuna, Raglan, fetched Is !>d per acre. Mr IX Whitson was tho buyer.
