Pkkskxtation. —A very pleasing incident occurred in the Whatawliata school-room on Monday morning last. Mr Hogan, the much respected school teacher, who is about leaving \Vhatawhata, was presented by the children [(numbering 30) with a handsome writing-dosk. and -Mrs Hogan with a I'rayer-book. Tho children were very much affected, having a general tangi all round. Mr and Mrs Hogan thanked them very much, and they also seemed inclined to join in the tangi.
