(by telegraph.— pritss association.) DUNEDIN, Monday. Patrick Henderson, 60 years of age, and said to be well connected, committed suicide by taking chlorodyne. He left letters saying he sulEered from insomnia, not intemperance, brought on merely through excessive law work.

CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. An inquest was held yesterday on Pinchin who died suddenly at the Waiau look-up. The post mortem showed that death resulted from poisoning by bromide of potassium which he pre suinably took when arrested, as a bottle containing traces of that drug was picked up near where the constable took him. A verdict was given in accordance with the medical evidence.
