DEATH OF MR G. G. BEALE.
It is with deep regret that we have to chronicle the death, from typho-malarial fever, of Mr C. G. Beale, the eldest son of Dr. Beale, of Ponsonby, at the early age of 2(1 years. Deceased was taken ill about four weeks ago while out at camp near Huntly, and came up to Hamilton for treatment by Dr. March, who. on recognising the symptoms of typhoid fever, at once recommended his removal to his parent's home, whither lie was taken on March 4th. From that time he had been constantly attended by his father, in conjunction with Dr. Davy, and no danger was anticipated until 4 a.m. on Saturday, 23rd inst.., when serious symptoms set in, and no hope was he'd out for recovery. From this time until death the deceased was unconscious, and the end was a peaceful one. The deceased was a fine young man who, by hissterling qualities, had won the esteem and respect of all with whom he had come in contact, and in the Waikato, where he is well known, he will be greatly missed. In social circles his face was one that was always welcomed, and as an athlete tho name of " Charlie " Beale was well-known throughout the Waikato. We feel sure that in expressing our deep sympathy with the deceased's relatives were are only uttering the feelings of all who knew him. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon and was largely attended. The coffin which was covered with floral wreaths was borne from the house to the hearse and thence to tho grave by six of his old schoolfellows, a large number of whom had assembled to pay their last tribute of respect. The interment took place in the Purewa Cemetry (near St. John's College), the service being read in an impressive maimer by the Rev. W. Calder of All Stints.
