Wam>en ; s Couut.—The annual fortnightly sitting of this Court was held hero on Tuesday, before Mr Warden Xorthcroft. The business brought before him wa; unimportant, consisting chiefly in the granting of several residential sites at Wainrongoinai, and the hearing of five cases for arrears of rents brought by the Mininc Inspector against residents in To Aroha. In the course of a conversation with Mr Cameron, who represents absented holders of a claim situated near tho trig station, the Warden stated that it is his intention between now and the next Court day, to go over the districts h-re wh'ire he has granted licenses, and wherever ho Hods no work is beinsr done ho will cause the claims to be forfeited, and give others a chance. R.M. Corner.—Tho only business to occupy the attention of the presiding magistrates (Messrs Nor theroft and Beamish) was tliH taking of depositions of Mrs Margaret Biggs, a widow, residing in Te Aroha. who is summoned to appear in Auckland for a dobt ..f £ol 4s lid, alleged to be owing to Parker, Green and Co., of that city. Mrs Biggs'evidence went to show that the was nut indebted, as she produced receipts amounting to £!)117s Id, and had lost another for .£l4. The evidence of her .son, William Biggs, was also taken, corroborating Mra Biggs' evidence. Assessment Couut.—Mr Northcroft, R.M. presiding. In reply to the bench, the Clerk stated that no valuation roll had yet been prepared, and Mr Northcroft announced that he appointed Mr 1 ,, . Pavitt to be valuer for the town of Te Aroha,
