Victorian and Adelaide wheat is quoted at 5s Gel (nominal); New Zealand, 4s 6d to os. Several large New Zealand parcels have been sold at these prices. Mklboitrxe, March 13. Official statistics give the total yield of wheat for this colony at 5,633,000 bushels, averaging 7il bushels per acre total yield. List year it was 13,328,000 bushels, with average 10-81 bushels per acre. The acreage under wheat 13 slightly over IS.OOO more than last year. There is an apparent surplus for export of 139,600 bushels. The estimated surplus in South Australia for export is 2,334,000 bushels, so that, according to the figures, the two together fall far short of requirements. In New South Wales alone the fulling off in oats, potatoes and hay is also great. Oats show a decrease of seven bushels per acre, potatoes 3 09 tons per acre, and hay •~5 tons per acre. During ail election meeting in the North Melbourne Town Hall last night a gang of larrikins rushed the place, and during the row that ensued a man. named Beyes was seriously stabbed in two places. Shocks of earthquake are reported to have been felt in the north.
