Henry George was received in London with a great oration. Mr J. A. Froude denies that he favours the political separation of Ireland from Kngland. Sir Chas. Wiirren has been appointed to the command of the troops at Singapore. The Transvaal and Orange Free State are seeking federation with South Africa. Barrett charged with the murder of the boy Gill at Bradford, was acquitted. Lord Tennyson is in failing health. Fighting has been renewed in Hayti with great barbarity. Charles Santley sails for Australia in April. Canada will give a subsidy of £110,000 to the Canadian-Pacific Company. The Maoris beat Manchester by two gaols and a try to a try. The French Government are instituting prosecutions in connection with the suppressed Patriotic League, and General Boulanger will be included.
