# (by telegraph—own correspondent.) Auckland, Wednesday. ■Tauks Chalcroft has been committed for trial on a charge of scttiiifr firs to a stack of oaten hay at Waitakerei on the Kith inst. The prisoner had threatened to roast out the owner of the stack, and on the night of tho fire ho was seen running away from the vicinity while the stack was burning. Mr Akroyd, Baldwin's agent has returned from Sydney. Baldwin was unable to giva an exhibition in Sydney, on account of the windy weather. His engage mcuts with Akroyd have been cancelled, and he returns to England. Williams, tho Sydney watchmaker and parachutist, contemplates giving exhibi tions in ISlew Zealand.
