CRICKET.
« Taupiri v. Churchill. A CUH'KET match between the above teams took place at Taupiri, on Saturday, the 23rd inst., and after a close pa me, resulted in a victory for Taupiri by twenty runs. The chief scores for Taupiri were Messrs LJleeson and Kdney, who made 13 and 22, and 10 and 10 respectively, by careful and sterling cricket, while for Churchill, Messrs Uoble and Massey headed the score with 21 and 14, Taupiri's grand total was 119 for two innings, Churchill M. The game was played throughout with the best of feeling, and the Churchill team returned home much impressed with the. courtesy and kindness of the Taupiri Cricket Club. A return will bo played at Churchill on March 30tli, when a Rood name is anticipated. The Taupiri and Churchill captain* are endeavouring to arrange a match between a combined lower Waikato team against ono of fhe upp?r Waikato at an early dale in April. ___^^^_ um _^ <
