WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
* The usual monthly meeting of the Waitoa Road Board took place last Saturday in the Nottingham Castle Hotel, Morrinsville. Present : Messrs W. P. Chepinell (in tho chair), IT. Burnett, J. Horrell, and J. Turnbull. Valuation Roll. —Among tho outward correspondence was a copy of a letter sent to the Property-tax Commissioner, re alterations he wiiihod to be made in the valuation roll, pointing out to him, among other things, thr.t in the list he forwarded tho areas of seventeen of the sections iu block XI, Te Aroha, were incorrect. Pnoi'EKTY-TAX V'ai.uks. —Among tho inward correspondence was a letter received from tho Property-tax Commissioner, reporting having forwarded statements of values of real property for tho three years from Ist April, 18S0. Tho statement was duly received, and is open for the inspection cf ratepayers at the Nottingham Castle Hotel,' Morrinsville. The Clerk was instructed to make out and forward to the Property-tax Commissioner, a list of errors or oinmissions, or corrections of any kind, requiring to be made in tho statement of the values of property in the names, occupations, or addresses of owners and occupiers, or in tho description of properties. Road Hepaihs.—A letter was received from Mr Thos. Taylor, Waihou, calling attention to repairs wanted on Taylor's road, and offering to clean out and deepen the road drain, and repair the bad places on the road opposite his section with the good stull' out of tho drain, if the Board would contribute ono shilling per chain. The Board accepted Mr Taylor's offer. Pjako-Gajidujikik Road.—Tho Engineer gave in his report on the works proposed to be dono on the Piako-Cambridgo road by the expenditure ot the rates derivable from native lands within the Waitoa Road District for the current year. Tho work consists of eight culverts and one bridge, and somo earthworks. The Board decided to supply the material and employ a man to do tho work, which the engineer was instructed to go on with, except tho bridge and two of the culverts, which will be gone on with by and by. Payments.—Accounts amounting to £09 18s 9d were passed for payment.
