* [by telegraph.—muss association.] Duxedin", Wednesday. William Cummings, 11 years of age, died yesterday, under chloroform, which was administered for tho performance sf a serious operation. The lad was attended by Drs. Coughtrey and Leetham, and had on two previous occasions been given a greater quantity of tho anesthetic without any 111rosults. It is stated that every care was taken by Dr. Leetham in administering the chloroform, and by Dr. Coughtrey in the operation, but tha patient died from syncope of the heart during tho operation.
