The report of the Taupiri Colliery Co. give-; a dividend of one shilling and a bonus of eighteenpence, making a total dividend of half-a-crown per share. All tho new capital has been taken up by tho present share, holders. Mr Percy Smith and Mr Lewis, UnderSecretary of the Native Department, have been completely successful in inducing the natives to allow blocks of land in tho King Country that have passed through the Court, to be surveyed. Applications have gone, or will go in this week, from night to ten large blocks, covering tho whole of the country from the boundary up to and beyond Otorohanga, and on both sides of the railway, the country that the Government are anxious to have pushed on and prepared for settlement as soon as possible.
