A MIRACULOUS ESCAPE.

Mr Harry Clark, sou of Mr George K. Ciark of Hautapu, had a most wonderful escape on Monday afternoon, for he win run over by a disc-harrow, and although rather seriously hurt it is little short of a miracle that he was not instantly killed. We have often looked at these harrows, and thought that if there ever was an instrument manufactured, calculated to kill and cut up) an individual, in fact lo make mincemeat of him, that the disc-harrow was the very one. From information supplied to us we gather that young Mr Clark was harrowing with three horses, one of which was a young one. This horse becoming very restive, he detached it from the others, but fastened it to the disc-harrow with a halter. It continued to play up, and that made the others restive. Fulsome reason young Clark attempted to jump on the back of one of the horses, but in doing so slipped and fell to the ground, and the disc-harrow passed over him. He was taken home and Dr. Cushney was sent for, and was quickly in attendance. He found a deep wound in the thigh, which he had to sew up ; there was also a cut on the temple, but beyond that the injuries were comparatively uf minor importance ; and he thinks his patient will be about again in a fortuight or three weeks. It appears that where the fall occurred there was a hollow in the ground into which Mr Clark luckily fell, and thus escaped what would certainly have been instant death,
