INTERPROVINCIAL
(by telegrpah.—press association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. Mr Eden George, photographer, on going to liis business this morning, found his studio had been entered during the night and the apparatus damaged so as to be useless. The cameras all but one were eat, the bottoms of the chairs lipped open, back grounds spoiled, the glass negatives smashed and photos torn up. The perpetrator is supposed to have got in at the back window, and wedged the front door to prevent it being opened while he was inside. Mr George estimates his loss at £500. He was formerly connected with Tuttle's business, Auckland.
WANGANUI, Wednesday,
At the Police Court the captain of the Salvation Army was fined Is and costs for obstructing a public place. He refused to pay the fine, but another Salvationist paid it. DUNEDIN, Wednesday.
The meeting to raise a local Paruell Defence Fund was rather poorly attended. £40 was subscribed in the room.
