Mills said it was high time now that pressure should be put on to get the rates in, us they must bo square, by the 31st March. It was agreed that if the rates do not come in within the next fortnight, the clerk will cull a special meeting.—After Koine other unimportant matters were talked over the meeting closed. Ol'tt Mkjjubu.-Mi- Kelly, M.H.R. informed ;i gentleman at the Thames the other day that it is his intention to be here within the next fortnight. It is understood lie will not address this portion "f his constituency. New Busiskss.—Mr M. AVhitehead, the well known Thames boot importer, has opened for business with a well assorted stock of boot and shoes in a shop in Whit-aker-street.
