ANNIVERSARY SWIMMING SPORTS, HAMILTON.

A meeting of subscribers and others interested in the above was held in the Waikato Times Building on Thursday evening. Present: Messrs W. A. Graham (in the chair), L. Cussen, R. F. Sandes, G. Parr, P. Missen, J. Missen, Parr, Somers, Kingsley, F. von Sturmer, Flood, Pannell, J S. Edgecumbe, Stevens, Dr. Murch, Barton, C. Beale, J. Parr, J. Knox, S. Pascoe and T. G. Sandes.—Mr K. I'. Sandes proposed that the Anniversary Swimming Races be held on the Lake on the 20th January. 1859.-Seconded by Mr P. Missen and carried.—The following were appointed to act as committed men with puwor to add to their number :—Mr }■ Coates, Dr. Kenny. Messrs J. Missen, P. Misson, G. and R. Parr, F von Sturmer, Flood, Dr. Murch, Somers, Pannull, Stevens. R. Gwynne, C. G. Beale, Pascoe, R. F. Sandes, F. Gaudin junior, A. Sage, L. Cussen, T. G. Sandes. J. Parr, J. Knox, (!. Edgecumbe, W. Taylor, C. Knox, O. LeQuesne, V. -T. von Stunner \\ . Dey, J T Horne, G. M. Carter, L. O'Neill, H. Biggs S. Davis. C. Robinson. It. Dellicar, (J A. Davis. —Mr,T. Missen proposed and Mr J. Parr seconded, that Mr J. I!. Prtiinell be appointed^ecretary.— Carried.— Proposed by T. G. Sandes and seconded by .). Iviiox that prizes be trophiesand no money. —Carried.—Mr Pannell proposed that the Waikato amateur championship \w confined to bona fide residents in tho Waikato District, i.e., counties of Raglan, Waipa. Waikato and Piako.—Seconded by■ Mr Stevens and carried.—Proposed by Mr J. Knox and seconded by Mr H. 1 , . bandes, that tho secretary be instructed to write to the secretary of the Domain Board requesting him to call u. special meeting of the Board to grant the use of tho 1 ark Reserve to the Swimming Club on the 29th, with power to charge an admission fee not to exceed (id per head for adults and children over 14 years of age, younger children to be admitted free—Carried.— It was resolved that Mr J. Missen ba starter ; Mr (i. Edgecmnbe, judge; R. P.irr, treasurer; Mr P. Missen, assistant secretary; Dr. Kenny, timekeeper.—Proposed by Mr T G. S.imlos an-J seconded by Mr J. b. Kdgecumbe, that the committee draw up thi;° programme. —Carried. A vote of thanks was accorded to the late secretary, MrT. (i. Sandes. . The. committee will meet at the Waikato Times Buildings on Alou.lay next.
