RAGLAN.
Chkistjiaktidk.—Once more this glad time Iris come and gone, with all its associations. Clnistmas Day was spent as usual by the various settlers in their own homes, when at the plenteous board old and young men gathered. The natives had a great spread at Motukiiku, near Aotea. Several hundred natives besides many Europeans were present. Large quantities of provisions had been supplied, and the weather being beautiful all enjoyed themselves.
Boxing Day.—Everywhere throughout the district had the settlers determined to enjoy themselves. The weather was delightful, a nice sea breeze springing tip in the morning, making the atmosphere refreshing. Varied attractive spots were chosen for picnic parties, all being beautiful resorts. Some sped their way to the lovely falls at Wairangi, where horso races took place amongst the natives and Europeans, whilst a good number visited Te Akau, by the very kind permission of Mr Mathias, in Messrj Wallis' large boat.
