Cambridge v. Taupiri.
This match was played at Hamilton on Saturday last and resulted in an easy victory for Taupiri. Cambridge is extremely unlucky this year, and we can only account for it by its cricketers having been demoralised by the counter attraction of lawn tennis. This is a pity, for Cambridge lias hitherto taken a leading position in the grand old game in Waikato. The ground on Saturday was very hard and not favourable for the display of good cricket consequently there was nothing particularly brilliant to record. Taupiri went in first and scored 72, of which Cox (captain), made 33 by good play. Cambridge in the first innings scared 32, of which Wils»n (captain), made 1(5. They followed on and made 40 in the second innings, leaving Taupiri one run to make to win, which was done- without the loss of a wicket. We have not the full scores at hand for publication in this issue.
