WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

The usual ordinary meeting of the Waikato County Council was hold at the Council Chambers, Hamilton East, at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. There were present: Crs. Primrose (chairman), Steele, Forrest and Smith.

RoAn.—The agent for Colonel Burton agreed to contribute half the cost of making the road into Ins property at Whangamarino. The Engineer was instructed to report on this subject at next meeting.

(i ravel. — Messrs Friar and Davis applied to have gravel put on the HuntlyNgaruawahia road, the expense to be met out of the balance in hand from the sum allocated for this road. The matter was deferred till next meeting. Traction' Engines.—The Chairman was appointed to attend the meeting of the delegates from the various councils with reference to drafting by-laws dealing with the traffic of traction engines. Audit. —An account was received from the audit office for £5 for fifteen hours work in connection with the audit of the county books. The account was hold over until next meeting. Dog Registrars.— Mr IT. Fitzgerald was appointed dog registrar for Tainahere and C.imbridge, Mr Birss for Itangiriri, Mr Lindsiy for Wairangi, and Mr Lees for Kirikiriroa. Security was required from each. Dog Collars. —The tender of .las. Reid, for df>g collars, at (is fid per dozen, being the only one received, was accepted. Peach Grove Reserve.— The following tenders were received for clearing the Peach Grove Rnso.rve, about 137 acres :— Radford and Widhart, 15s per acre ; G. Vowless, 10s; Thomson and Melunuon, 9s ;C. Mclvenzie, Ss !)J. The tender of C. McKeuzic being the lowest, was accepted. Payments.—The following accounts were passed for pay met:—Tut; Waikato Times, £3 2s Gd ; Owen ami Churches, £13. This concluded the business, and the council ruse.
